Happy Winter

Yesterday Stefanie and I attended a fabric show in New York City. And it was bitter cold outside. We both started saying how we don’t feel right. Not depressed, just not liking the cold. You leave work and it is dark outside. It’s freezing so it’s hard to get motivated. We both were laughing at how if we lived in a warm weather place year-round, we would probably not really miss the season changes.

I came up with some fun ideas on how to get you in a better mood and get you through the next two months.

1.  SPA DAY

Not just a massage, spend a day at a spa. The smell of oils will remind you of summer. Also, a facial will be great for your skin. A spa day with a girlfriend will put a smile on your face.

2.  TAKE UP A COLD WEATHER HOBBY

I really want to learn to knit. I probably won’t until my kids are off at college. But knitting is something you will probably do more in the winter months.

3.  TAKE A LONG WEEKEND SOMEWHERE WARM

It will break up the long days of the cold, and also give you something to look forward to. A little time away always helps.

4.  NEW RECIPES

The crock pot has become my very good friend this winter. And I love Real Simple for recipe ideas. Here are some of my favorites.

5. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH FRIENDS

During the summer we like to spend weekends doing fun activities. The winter is a good time to plan visits to see friends you have not seen in a while.
